When you visit this website, Help the Aged collects your IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when.
We also collect any information that you may choose to give voluntarily, such as contact details and data protection permissions. We may use this information for marketing or to improve the quality of our services.
If you make a donation online or purchase a product from us, your card information is collected by our partner organisation WorldPay plc, but is not held by Help the Aged.

Help the Aged uses this information to help us understand more about how our site is used, so that we can improve it.
We also use it so that we can send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may concern campaigns, appeals, promotions etc.

Help the Aged is committed to protecting the personal data of its supporters and members. Any details you give us will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Help the Aged - including Help the Aged (Mail Order) Ltd and Help the Aged (Trading) Ltd - is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to third parties (unless we have your explicit permission to do so).
From time to time, where you have given permission, we may want to contact you about other Help the Aged services and products or pass your details to similar organisations.
When you are using our secure online donation pages, your donation is processed by WorldPay plc, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, email the webmanager.
If you do not want to continue receiving information by email from us, please follow the instructions at the bottom of the email, which will tell you how to unsubscribe.

The accuracy of your information is important to Help the Aged. We are working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that Help the Aged maintains about you. In the meantime, if you change email address, or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us here, or write to us at Data Processing Dept, Help the Aged, 207-221 Pentonville Road, N1 9UZ, Tel: 020 7278 1114.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information Help the Aged hold about you (we may charge £10 for information requests).

5. Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give Help the Aged personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with what we believe to be the best encryption software in the industry - 128 Bit encryption on SSL.
When you are on a secure page, a lock icon will appear on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator, Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Non-sensitive details (your email address etc) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Help the Aged cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
